One Way or Another, Blondie, 1978

We finally watched Cruella last night ... it was fine. We love Emma Stone in this house so her in the leading role automatically gets it a "fine" rating regardless of any other factors. Good grief, friends, someone loved that movie way too much, though, because it needed some massive editing.

The score was pretty all over the place and way too pronounced for my taste. It felt as if there was a montage every other scene. It felt way too forced. I don't know what it is with movies and music right now ... it's as if all the filmmakers are trying to prove how cool they are through their score choices instead of fleshing out their movies.

You guessed it -- Blondie's One Way or Another took over at one point. What a great song and wow, it's been in a ton of movies. It's so bizarre to think that it came out in the late 1970s. How can it be more than 40 years old and still sound so fresh? That opening riff is iconic. Do we all become vindictive stalkers the minute that riff hits? I think, yes.

Happy Labor Day! Listen to Blondie today!
