It's so dark. Can you see me? Under the neighborhood, everybody's sleeping ... Thank you, Starcrawler, for this perfect lyric for these shorter days. Ugh. Not a fan of my body's workday wake-up call rousing me so early on the weekends. I hope to one day be that girl who sleeps in on Saturdays but today is not that day.

Let's talk about Starcrawler. I'm crushing hard. Henri Cash is my current obsession with his bandmate and younger brother, Bill, coming in a close second. These guys are virtuosa level guitarists -- innovative purists. Henri's got this rad signature sound he created with a three-string guitar setup and custom pedals. I sh*t you not. Starcrawler is a seriously cool and talented LA band with garage punk adrenaline. No identity issues here. No unnecessary negative undertones of infighting, either. These cool kids are legit buds from high school/10 years back and it shows. Good stuff.

Old people speak with my railmate at a concert a little over a week ago: Should shows start earlier? Should we skip opening acts? Sounds good in theory but thinking back, I've met some of my new-to-me favorite bands/artists as openers. Case in point, Starcrawler. Body be damned -- bring all the live music!
