What I Like About You, The Romantics, 1980
(Covered by Bay Simpson/Fiddleworms last night)
I was out past curfew on a Saturday night, y'all. It feels good to wake up with a full-on 80s mashup in my head led by this awesome song. Clearly, I'm still all wrapped up in the musical magic gifted to me by the Fiddleworms (and friends) to a full house in Decatur last night.
Waking to our long-awaited spring forward renewal feels good, too. Thank you, Fiddleworms, for rocking me right into longer days. Thank you for dancing me over the threshold out of the winter doldrums and into the hope of spring.
What a perfect night! Not only perfect, though, it was iconic. Yes, iconic. The songs and venue were iconic and the band was (and is) absolutely iconic. The Fiddleworms have always commanded a stage with infectious rock n' roll joy and pure talent, but last night was something else. It was so very elevated -- next-level.
My 80s-loving ass just simply could not have had a more enjoyable experience at the rock show, friends. Full review coming tomorrow.
Worms dug and happy Sunday!
