Angry Johnny, Poe, 1995


We've all had a year. To say it's been challenging is likely a gross understatement for most. Although I do feel positive about the future in general, some residual anger has surfaced in me this past month. It took a lot of living for me to understand anger is a natural emotion that can be handled in a healthy way.


I love Poe. I love this song. Whereas I'm not angry at a specific person, the entire vibe of this song still expresses how I feel. I love how she's singing shocking, violent sentiments in such a soothing, beautiful voice. Personally, I feel this way more than I would like to admit -- calm and cool on the outside but unsettled on the inside.

Words are a powerful tool to work through emotions. Music is therapy. Also, when anyone is calm and you know they should be angry, run.
