Baggage, L7, 1994

Well, hello y'all. Thank you to Donita (Sparks) and the girls for planting this most perfect post-birthday anthem in my head this morning. Not only is this song so very L7, it is so very apropos -- yes, I am looking old today in a very jaded way. One of the best opening lines to a song ever, btw.

I am about 48 hours away from kissing birthday/vacation week good-bye for another year. It’s been a good one filled with the perfect mix of productivity and rest and relaxation. Yep, my L7 friends, I am another year older and it's true, now I have baggage. Don't we all, though?

Getting older is such a challenging yet super interesting journey. Just yesterday, my bestie and I were waxing nostalgic about the days before cell phones and the internet. It's easy to wonder how we knew or did anything "in those primitive days" but truthfully, it was more of a genuine existence. It was more simple and more refined. It was more intentional and had more depth. You know what I mean?

It's hard to swim with baggage, friends.

Happy Saturday!
